Chatham-Kent Cougars Minor Football Team Makes Playoffs

The Cougars were successful in their first play-off game last night under the lights at Windsor Stadium defeating Windsor Mic Mac 40 - 16. The Cougars advance to the quarter-finals on Sunday to play LaSalle J.Papia.

Cougars started the game with a fumble recovery by Gabe Wallace. On the first offensive play of the game Eric VanDeVeire rushed for a 33 yard touchdown. Clark Green added the 2 point convert to give the Cougars an early 8 - 0 lead. At halftime the score was tied 8 - 8

In the second half the Cougars exploded with four touchdowns. Eric VanDeVeire scored two more touchdowns with runs of 33 and 103 yards and Tre Gallagher scored on a 22 yard rush. Chad Reeb deflected a pass which was intercepted by Tyler Harwood who took it to the house for a touchdown. Clark Green was perfect on the night kicking 5 for 5 in convert attempts. The defense caused two fumbles, an interception and four turnovers on downs.
