Punt, Pass and Kick Fundraiser

Hey Cougars, this year is the inaugural year for the Cougars Football League – the first time youth in our community have had the opportunity to play minor football in a Chatham-Kent league. Our registration in age groups ranging from 7 to 13 years old topped 280! This year alone the Cougars Football League has purchased over 160 sets of equipment, including practice and game jerseys, helmets, shoulder pads and pants, and has purchased game day equipment. In order to continue to offer Chatham-Kent youth an opportunity to play football within our community, Cougars Football League is holding a Punt, Pass and Kick fundraiser. As a Pay-It-Forward, the Cougars will be donating a portion of the proceeds to the Prism Center for Audiology and Children’s Rehabilitation. We need your help!!

Punt, Pass and Kick will be held at your October 16th practice and the top 4 players from each team will be invited to the Punt, Pass and Kick Championships during a Chatham-Kent High School Playoff game that will be announced later.

Rules

1. The objective of Punt, Pass, and Kick is to maximize accuracy and distance in three fundamental football skills.
2. Each player will try to achieve the best Total Score: Best Punting Score + Best Passing Score + Best Kicking Score = Total Score.
3. Each player will have two (2) chances at each skill.
4. Player can remove helmet and shoulder pads before participating in the contest.
5. For each player, only the best score from each skill will be recorded.
6. Players must stay behind the Start Line or a zero (0) score will be assessed.
7. Players must have ball land between the boundaries or a zero (0) score will be assessed.
8. A Centre Line will extend perpendicular to the Start Line.
9. Measurements will be made:
a. Distance = Perpendicular from the Start Line to the ball;
b. Accuracy = Ball must land between the boundaries. If ball lands between the boundaries an accuracy score of one (1) will be assessed if the ball lands outside of the boundary an accuracy score of zero (0) will be assessed.
10. Score = Distance * Accuracy

EXAMPLE: If Distance is 40 yards and ball lands inside the boundaries, the Score is 40 yards. If the Distance is 40 yards and ball lands outside the boundaries, the Score is 0 yards.
