MINOR FOOTBALL

Started in 2008, the Cougars Football League operates under the Chatham-Kent Cougars Football Club and is a "house league" designed to help young athletes (boys and girls) to play football in an environment that will develop fundamental football skills, team skills, social skills, physical fitness and most importantly, to have fun.  The Cougars Football League provides Chatham-Kent youth an opportunity to play organized tackle football in our own community.

Cougars Minor Football takes place from late August to the beginning of November and is for children aged 7 through 13.

In 2010 the divisions are:
TYKE              Born in 2001 - 2003
ATOM             Born in 1999 and 2000
PEEWEE         Born in 1997 and 1998

Games are played mainly on Sundays with some night games possible.  Games typically take between 1 and 1 ½ hours to play.  Most teams practice twice per week with practice dates being set by the coaches based on field availability and conflicts with other sports.

2010 registration fees are $195 with all equipment, minus cleats and socks, being provided by the Chatham-Kent Cougars Football Club.

Detailed information regarding the Cougars Football League can be found on its web-site at www.cougarsfootballleague.com.  Players should direct themselves to that web-site for scheduling information.
